Year 6 Residential - Day 3
Day 3 saw Tawny group and Peregrine group complete the 3-peak challenge and they reached the summit of all 3! What a great achievement! Suprisingly, the children didn’t find the climbing up the hardest; the greatest challenge was found in coming down with many opting for a ‘slide on your bum’ technique, as it was a steep and slippery descent. Once again, the children showed great stamina and determination. They learned about different flowers and plants growing around the peaks and were also shown safe foraging.
Meanwhile, Buzzard group completed their gorge walk, once again many of the children attempting the ‘trust fall’ and enjoying the natural slides occurring beneath the river. They then worked as a team to decide on a safe route, scrambling to the top where they were rewarded with spectacular views.
Finally this evening, all three groups visited Horse Shoe Falls where they had great fun rolling down the grassy banks before enjoying a group photo-shoot. The children then returned and finished their busy day with a cup of chocolate. Another very successful and rewarding day!
