Year 6 Playground Structures
This term, Year 6 have channelled creativity and craftsmanship into their exciting Playground Structures project as part of their Design and Technology curriculum. Using their imagination and awareness of purpose, the children designed, constructed, and evaluated their own miniature playground—complete with moving parts and thoughtful design details.
Throughout the unit, pupils developed a wide range of practical skills, including precise measuring, sawing, and joining materials. These technical abilities were paired with careful planning and teamwork, allowing each structure to reflect both function and fun! From swings to spinning merry-go-rounds, their models showcased innovative thinking and a clear understanding of real-world design.
After completing their builds, the children evaluated their work thoughtfully, identifying the strengths of their work and suggested practical improvements. Well done, Year 6. Your work is fantastic!
